Well, it was a great time for me to get a new job, because Danny and I got to go to Lagoon for free!! August marks the 10th anniversary for Conservice, so this month has been full of good stuff. The first week, we got ice cream and cookies, the second week we got free t-shirts and a free Lagoon day! That's what Danny and I did this weekend.
But before we actually went to Lagoon, we had to get the car fixed. The trunk on the Jetta was having trouble closing the first time, then the actual lock fell out! We stopped in Layton at Cutrubus VW and got it fixed. Luckily, we didn't have to get a whole new set of locks & keys (that would cost a fortune!), we just had to replace the latch and have them fix the lock. All in all, it only cost $110, which is better than it could have been.
After that, it was off to Lagoon! We got there around noon and had enough time to ride Rattlesnake Rapids before we had our FREE lunch at 1. But I don't want to bore you with the details, so I'll sum it up in a few thoughts:
*Things we did:*
-Danny rode the Ferris Wheel for the first time. Here is a picture and a video of us on the ride...it's pretty funny. :)
Good times!!
--We went on bumper cars a ton! It was a lot of fun...Danny's not much of a roller coaster guy, so bumper cars are his ride of choice!
--We went on all of the water rides (Hydroluge, Rattlesnake Rapids, and Log Flume) 3x after 8:00 pm. That's right, we got wet after the sun went down. Call us crazy, but it was so fun! We didn't have to wait in any lines and it was just as fun as it was during the day. Sure, we were wet on our way home, but we figured that in the years to come, when we have kids, we won't get a chance to be crazy like this. Here's a picture of us after the 3rd time on Rattlesnake Rapids!
*Things we learned:*
--When going to Lagoon, put all valuables (phone, camera, money, etc...) into little plastic bags. At the end of the water rides, we were worried that Danny's phone had given up the ghost because of the water, but it survived. It would have been nice to think of and not have to worry about our stuff.
--Bring your own food....Yeah, we did get a free meal, but it was tough for us to have to buy dinner in the park. We shared a Subway sandwhich, then picked up something on our way home.
--People are retarded...ok, I shouldn't say retarded, but we were in line for the Hydroluge (one of our many times) and these people just think they can cut to the front. It was really frustrating. Danny and I both decided that we need to be more assertive and tell people that they need to go to the back.
--Do NOT go on the Log Flume if the line is outside of the upper deck. We waited for at least 45 minutes for a 3 second ride. We had to make up for it later that night, which made our average wait time for that ride around 15 minutes. Here we are in line for the Log Flume...big mistake...
And finally, we saw this kid sleeping in the middle of the day. We were like, 'Why are you sleeping?!? You're at LAGOON!' Haha...
It looks like you guys had fun at Lagoon! I'm glad you got the trunk fixed; the phone still works; got free food; and didn't fall off the ferris wheel!...Waiting in lines is a real bummer, but it's what Lagoon is all about...I'm really surprised that Danny didn't tell the line cutters to get to the back!...when he was much younger he was the playground cop, what happened Danny?! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Danny is hilarious! It sounds like you had a fun day and learned lots. You two are so cute!
