Month 4

As of today, I am 17 weeks along! As you can see from the picture, a slight bump is starting to appear, which is exciting and different. We had our last appointment last Tuesday and got to see the baby again. Our doctor said that, if we were lucky and the baby cooperated, we might be able to tell the gender. We weren't really expecting to find out, as it's still a little early, but it was still fun to see the baby. I'm pretty certain that the baby knew we were trying to see between its legs because it had its legs crossed and wouldn't let us see! :) But other than that, we got to see the spine and some bones (which we hadn't seen before) as well as some funny moments with the baby, which included covering its face with its hands and giving us a "#1!" gesture. Our next appointment is March 1st, which is when we'll for sure find out the gender.
17 weeks (disregard the baggy pants...it's my first time wearing these maternity pants and they are just a little big)
How far along: 17 weeks
Total weight gain: 0 pounds (I lost 5 pounds in the 1st trimester, now I've gained it all back)
Maternity clothes: Tried out some maternity pants today (still too loose), but I have been wearing some maternity shirts occasionally to see how they fit. Most are still too big, though.
Sleep: Good!
Best moment this week/month: Seeing the baby again and starting to see my little bump
Miss anything: Cold cut sandwiches...because I can't eat cold cuts, it seems to be all I want :P
Movement: Saw it moving like crazy last week, but haven't felt anything yet. According to all of my resources, I should feel something before my next appointment.
Food cravings: still partial to mac & cheese, but I'm good with almost anything
Anything making you queasy or sick: chicken and bread crusts
Gender: Unknown
Symptoms: weight gain, occasional dizziness
Wedding rings on or off: On
Mood: grateful - everything is going well!
Looking forward to: Feeling the baby move soon

  1. EXCITING...things are starting to happen! So glad you are feeling well and everything is going great. Your picture looks cute...enjoy "baggy" because all too soon things will be "tight!"

  2. I totally have had the same problem with craving the sandwiches! That was all I ever wanted when I first got pregnant.

  3. Love the picture! I'm with Mardee, enjoy baggy, tight will come soon enough. What a tease that baby is! I'm so glad you're feeling well.

  4. I craved cold cuts also, and actually ate them with both pregnancies, occasionally. I'm so excited for you guys.

  5. Lucky you with zero weight gain! I'm already at 18 pounds.
I love sandwiches, too. I've just started heating my lunch meat up in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Once it's steaming, it is safe to eat. Josh still judges me for it, but whatever!
I cannot wait to find out the gender of your baby! There better not be any tricks next month!
